Start with the information you need
Before choosing a solution, we define the fields the operation needs, their sources and how they are checked. A document can contain incomplete or conflicting information. The design should address those situations and make it clear which cases need review.
- Required fields and data structure.
- Input formats and sources.
- Validation and exceptions.
- Destination reports or systems.
Reading, extraction and classification
ZaTek works on reading, extraction, classification and validation, as well as report generation. Each stage serves a different purpose. Extracting a field does not mean that the information is sufficient to complete a task. Its context and the next action must also be defined.
An example using PDF and CSV
For Effect Doctors London, we developed PDF and CSV processing, structured biomarker extraction and the generation of clinical PDF reports. Extraction organizes the data that is then presented in the report. The workflow design should include the review the professional team needs before using that information.
An implementation that fits the workflow
We review representative documents and exceptions in the existing process. We define inputs, outputs, validation and human review. We then build in stages and test with real cases. This establishes where automation is useful and which parts should remain under human control.
Common questions
Can you process any document?
Feasibility depends on the format, file quality and required fields. We review samples and exceptions before defining scope.
What happens when information is missing?
The workflow should identify the issue and define whether to request the information, stop processing or send the case for review.
Does a report replace professional review?
Automation organizes and generates information within the agreed scope. Decisions that require professional review must retain that step.
